We are a full-scale rebuilder and specialize in vintage American grands. We can rebuild your family piano, or you can choose from one of the pianos we have available. We give new life to older pianos. Our painstaking old-world craftsmanship is mated with modern techniques and high-quality parts to produce instruments that are excellent in sound, touch, appearance and value. · Most vintage instruments have a richer, more mellow tone than newer pianos due to scale design and tension, as well as soundboard quality. · Vintage cabinetry uses now-rare thick veneers, many in specialty woods with intricate casework. These pianos have a special patina. · Vintage instruments do not contain plastic parts or particleboard like modern instruments; many have gorgeous restored ivory and ebony keys. · Pianos built in the “golden age” (1900-1930) were constructed using well-seasoned high-quality woods, handcrafted to last for generations. · We rebuild actions with the highest quality materials available, and pay meticulous attention to detail. Beware of “rebuilt” instruments that are merely refinished and cleaned up, but that have all their original worn-out action parts, strings and pinblock. These instruments are seldom worth the price tag placed on them. There is no industry standard for rebuilding, either in quality or in terminology. Our ‘rebuilds’ are truly rebuilt, with every last tiny part gone over, replaced or restored by hand. A quality restored piano gives the buyer more quality and value for the money, and can preserve your family heirloom for the next generation. Come in and see our workshop. We’re proud of our work and glad to show off our latest projects! |
